What stood out

Frederic Dube had the best weekend in Toronto. On Friday, Dube won Pro Men in 55:22, 25 seconds ahead of fellow Canadian Ryan Douglas (55:47), with Ryan Callahan third in 57:22. On Saturday, Dube and Cole Learn won Men's Pro Doubles in 48:41, 3:31 ahead of Stirling Peters and Chase Stevenson.

Pro Women was close and fast. Madelyn Eybergen won in 58:32, 25 seconds ahead of Vivian Tafuto (58:57), and Rachael Wade was third in 59:34, so the whole podium finished under an hour. Wade came back on Saturday and won Women's Pro Doubles with Erika Tvedten in 58:23. They won by 15 seconds over Quinlan Hickey and Lindsay Bessegato, the closest finish of the event.

A lot of the podium raced more than once. Ryan Douglas, second in Pro Men, also won Men's Doubles with William Tsilkas in 52:58, 3:25 clear. Quinlan Hickey won Mixed Doubles with Kenneth Stapon in 55:24 and was second in Women's Pro Doubles. Mitch Haines and David Evans were third in Men's Doubles and won the Mixed Relay with Karyn Guidry and Claire Haines in 58:39. Guidry was also third in Mixed Doubles with Joshua Gonzalez, who was second in Men's Doubles too.

The Open races were decided by minutes, not seconds. Zach Cygan won Open Men in 57:16, 1:21 ahead of Zachary Marino, from the youngest age group (16 to 24). Maguy Deslauriers won Open Women in 1:05:26, 1:42 clear of Jessica Vaszily.

The biggest winning margin of the weekend was in the Men's Relay. Shane McKenzie, Pat Millington, Connor Bell and Ryan Reid won in 53:50, 5:52 ahead of the next team.
