What you are training for

A HYROX race is eight one-kilometre runs, each followed by one station, in a fixed order. Eight runs, eight stations, and the clock never stops, including the walk between them.

What time should you aim for?

The global average is about 1:35 for men and 1:50 for women. First timers usually land 1:30 to 2:00, and honestly nearer nearer 1:45. Pick a target from the slower end for a first race and execute it properly.

The pacing calculator turns a goal finish time from 1:00 to 2:00 into the run pace, station budget and transition time that add up to it. Then log what you actually run and it tells you which station is costing you the race.

In the last seven days

You cannot get fitter in race week, but you can turn up tired, underfed or missing a shoe. The race-week checklist covers what to train, what to stop, and what to pack, and it counts down to the day you picked above.
